Pre-Algebra: Chapter 1-3
Expressions containing 1 and 2 variables was today’s lesson. Given a numeric value for the variable, and using PEMDAS, the order of operations, we solve the expression.
If x=2 and y=5, then the expression 5x + 8y becomes 5(2) + 8(5) = 10 + 40 = 50 as the final answer.
Algebra: Chapter 1-3
Today we worked on exponents and evaluating expressions with variables. Given a value for the variable, just remember to plug in the numeric value. Using the PEMDAS, order of operations, find a solution for the expression. Reduce all fractions to lowest terms.
