Day 30

Algebra: Chapter 3-8

Solving Equations with Absolute Value

We will begin this lesson tomorrow, we ran out of time today because of the homework questions from Chapter 3, Lesson 6 and 7. Stay tuned!

Intro to Algebra: Chapter 2-6

Division of Rational Numbers

  • When we divide a POSITIVE number by a NEGATIVE  number OR a NEGATIVE number by a POSITIVE number, the quotient (or answer) is NEGATIVE.
  • When we divide 2 POSITIVE numbers or 2 NEGATIVES numbers, the quotient is POSITIVE.

2 rational numbers whose product is 1 are called multiplicative inverses or RECIPROCALS. The reciprocal of `8/7` is then `7/8`. Remember, that the reciprocal ALWAYS has the same SIGN as the original number too!
