Pre-Algebra: Chapter 12-3

Geometric Probability

Just like we did in Chapter 9 with simple probability, we can do the same thing with geometric probability. With geometric probability, we are usually talking about circle, bulls-eyes, squares or other geometric figures. Remember, the formualae for are of a rectangle `A=l*w` and the area of a circle `A=pir^2` can come in handy.

Algebra: Chapter 12-5

Direct Variation

An equation of the form `y=kx` where k is a constant, expressses direct variation. `k` is called the constant of variation. Sometimes you have to solve for the constant of variation given the initial information and then use the `k` to solve additional problems given the same `k`.
