Pre-Algebra: Chapter 10 TEST

We finished up the Chapter 10 test today but DID NOT start Chapter 11, Lesson 1. So … for today, there is NO homework!

Using the Pythagorean Theorem

Using the theorem, c^2 = a^2 + b^2, where “c” is the hypotenuse and “a” and “b” are legs of a RIGHT TRIANGLE, we can solve real world problems involving a variety of problems. You usually have to express the answers with exact numbers using a calculator rather than with simplified radicals. It is VERY HELPFUL to draw pictures and label all things that are known in these type of problems. Understand the picture FIRST, before you start using the calculator!
