Pre-Algebra: Chapter 9-9

Using Percent Equations

Some definitions are in order. Discount is the amount that we save when something is on sale. Interest is the amount of money that you earn when you lend your money to the bank. Interest adds to your money while a discount is subtracted from your money.

Use whickity-whack divide to solve these problems! Here is a link to some more examples.

Using Rational Equations

We are working on DRT problems and “WORK” 1/x problems. These say, if it takes one person 2 hours to do a job and another person 3 hours, how long does it take them both, working together to do the job.
