Day 72

Pre-Algebra: Chapter 6 Review

Classwork and Homework is the Chapter 6 Equation Review on page 59. Make sure you remember how to multiply fractions and decimals. Remember too, that in 1 step equations, whatever we do to one side of an equation, we do to the other as well.

If we have something like 2y = 42, then we divide (the opposite of 2 * y) by 2 on both sides. If the equation is something like r/ 4 = 16, then we do the opposite of division, which is multiplication and multiply both sides by 4.

We do the same for equations like s + 42.2 = 64.5. We do the opposite of the adding of  s + 42.2, and subtract 42.2 from both sides of the equation. If the equation is t – 3/4 = 14/3, then the opposite of subtraction is adding and we must add 3/4 to both sides!

Algebra: Chapter 7, 8 and 9 Review

Benchmark review continues today and tomorrow. Review the slope-intercept equation and the point-slope equations and their applications on pages 328-330 of the textbook.

Bring your questions tomorrow to the 7:30 a.m. tutoring session.
