Pre-Algebra: Chapter 3, Quiz A/B
We took the Quiz A/B (11 problems) and it took a little more time than MrE thought. So … we moved Lesson 8 to Monday and the homework is due on Tuesday.
Algebra: Chapter 3, Lesson 12 – deleted!
To get ready for the Benchmark test next week, MrE will not cover Lesson 12 in Chapter 3. We replaced it with a review of the Chapter by using Skills Practice 8 and 9. We worked on the even problems and will finish them for homework this weekend.
For the percentage problems, it is easiest if you can decode the problem into a simple english sentence. Then, that can be converted into the necessary equation. If you can turn the words into (e.g.):
“$6,272 is the original amount plus 6 additional percent of the original amount”, then we can turn that into:
$6,272 = x + .06x and we can then solve it!
It just takes practice! Don’t fret!
