Algebra: Chapter 8-5, p 380
Today we worked on problems 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13. We did these in class and 2 of these types will be on the Chapter 8 test and the ALGEBRA MIDTERM next week. Study what MrE did on the board today and bring your questions tomorrow as well as the Chapter 8 test review!
Math-8: Chapter 6-3, p 284
To multiply fractions, multiply the numerators and multiply the denominators. For fractions `a/b` and `c/d`, `(a/b)*(c/d)=(ac)/(bd)`. Practice!
Sometimes, it is helpful to multiply by the RECIPROCAL of a fraction. The reciprocal is just the fraction flipped over (or upside down). The product of a fraction and its reciprocal is = 1.
Sometimes, if you have a MIXED NUMBER, you need to convert the mixed number into an IMPROPER FRACTION.
