Day 33

Algebra: Chapter 3-10 (p 152)

Using Percent

The ratio of numbers to 100 is called percent. Percent means “per one hundred”. We use whickity-whack divide, the method that Ms. Phillips taught us in 7th grade. Here is my podcast that describes the process!

Intro to Algebra: Chapter 2-8 (p 93)

Inverse of a Sum and Simplifying

The inverse of a SUM Property: For any rational numbers, `−(a+b)=−a+(−b)`. The additive inverse of a sum is the sum of the additive inverses.

In other words, if you have a `−` in front of a paranthesis, then just change to sign of EVERYTHING inside. For example, `−(2a−7b−6)` becomes the opposite of each term, `−2a+7b+6`
